Abstract
The mechanism of long-chain xanthate sorption on djurleite and chalcop yrite surface was investigated. The crystal structure of metal sulphid es, the geometry of the xanthate groups and the xanthate-metal sulphid es interaction were taken into account. A spectacular increase in sorp tion rate of higher xanthates on the mineral surface was observed.
