Abstract
The enantiomeric separation of amphetamine and phenylephrine was inves tigated using cyclodextrin (CD)-mediated capillary zone electrophoresi s. The enantiomers of amphetamine can be baseline separated by using 5 0 mM Tris-H3PO4 buffer (pH 2.3) containing 12 mM heptakis(2,6-di-O-met hyl)-beta-CD and those of phenylephrine by using 50 mM Tris-H3PO4-6 M urea-100 mM beta-CD (pH 2.3) buffer. CD type and concentration, buffer composition, organic modifier and capillary length all play a role in chiral separation.
