SUMMER WHEAT YIELDS AS RELATED TO METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS IN RAIN-FED FARMING ON SOLONETZIC COMPLEX IN ZAVOLZHYE SEMIDESERTS

Statistical methods and empiric mathematical models have been applied to assess the reliability of correlations between the meteorological p arameters and yields of summer wheat in Zavolzh'ye semidesertic solone tz microcatenas; data have been collected since 1954. The reliability of the increment in water reserves in snow and soils, as well as in th e wheat yields, in case of forest shelter belts as compared to traditi onal farming system is considered. The risk is shown to be lower in th e first case, and it decreases in case of adaptive systems of individu al farming.
