Abstract
The atmospheric corrosion behavior of chromated zinc electrodeposits f rom alkaline, cyanide-free, and weakly acid baths in the tropical clim ate of Cuba are compared, The main structural difference detected betw een investigated coatings that might provide better corrosion resistan ce of deposits from an alkaline bath, was the inclusion of ZnO in this type of coating. Statistical analysis of the corrosion data from five various exposure conditions shows that distinct corrosion behavior is related to the physico-chemical properties of corrosion products.
