Abstract
I present in this article a perspective on infectious diseases - newly -emerging diseases, resurgent diseases and simmering diseases that hav e a proclivity to break out in epidemic form from time to time, and vi ew them in the context of rapidly changing life conditions in India an d elsewhere. We live in truly remarkable times.
