Abstract
An approximation method of calculation is proposed to enable an analys is of the electric potential distribution and the electron trajectory in a plane including the central axis without cylindrical symmetry. Ef fects of small misalignments in a cascade static lens gauge (CSLG) are calculated and the permissible error range in the assembling process is estimated by computer simulation. If is estimated that, even in the most serious case of misalignment, assembling errors within 0.5 mm wi ll have little effect on the operation of the CSLG.
