Abstract
We demonstrated the production of hydroxyl (OH) free radicals by an ar gon magnetized sheet plasma with vertical gas-flow which is mixed with an oxygen gas O-2 and a hydrogen gas H-2. As a result, the emission i ntensity of OH free radicals (306.4 nm) increases with increasing O-2 gas-flow, while the high energy part of the electron-energy distributi on function f(e)(E(e)) above similar to 5 eV decreases. These results suggest the high energy part off (e)(E(e)) contributes to the dissocia tion of O-2 and the production of OH free radicals. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
