FORMULATION AND COMPACTION OF NONTRACTURING DEFORMABLE COATED BEADS

There has been considerable interest in making tablets from spheronize d beads rather than through encapsulation. It is obvious that the forc es present during compaction may break a coating intended to control d rug release. This effect may be moderated by cushioning agents incorpo rated into the bead formulation or situation between the beads. Our wo rk describes the latter method.
