H. Topfer et al., PECULIARITIES OF RSFQ APPLICATIONS WITH HIGH-T-C SUPERCONDUCTORS - ANAPPROACH FOR DESIGN, Journal de physique. IV, 6(C3), 1996, pp. 345-350
The significant progress in the development of Rapid Single Flux Quant
um (RSFQ) logic circuits indicates their potential for fast cryoelectr
onic device applications. The possibilities of realizing logic compone
nts based on this principle with high-T-c superconductive (HTS) materi
als have been studied by means of numerical computations. The most cru
cial task is to manage the trade-off between desired high critical cur
rents and the loop inductances, which can not be made arbitrarily smal
l. Parameter extractions for typical layout arrangements and dynamical
simulations including thermal noise give justification for expecting
small scale HTS-RSFQ implementations.
