Abstract
Three separate but related experiments were carried out to test the ef fect of dietary orabolin or its combination with ampicillin on body we ight gain or feed conversion efficiency in pre-market stage adult turk eys and young turkey poults, respectively. The anabolic steroid and st eroid/antibiotic combination were administered through feed and water (Groups A and B) while control group C received plain feed and water. Except for linear differences mostly in favour of the treatment groups , there was no significant difference (P>0.05) in respect of feed inta ke, feed efficiency and body weight gain among the birds of different groups in all the three experiments. It has been concluded that supple mentation of diet with orabolin with or without ampicillin at this rat e was not beneficial.
