Abstract
A new polymer-anchored vanadium(v) catalyst (3) has been shown to cata lyse the epoxycyclization of the hydroxymethyl furans 4 and 6 with 70% tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) under ambient conditions, leading to the formation of the hydropyranone derivatives 5 and 7.
