Abstract
A simple method for theoretical prediction of optimum thickness to max imise the spectral selectivity of the absorber in photothermal convers ion of solar energy is presented. The optical properties of the absorb er are described in terms of Kubelka-Munk theory. The calculation is a pplied on black thickness-sensitive spectrally selective paint coating s. The obtained optimum thicknesses are compared with values which hav e been established by experimental optimisation.
