Four Co/Cu(111) superlattices, grown by molecular beam epitaxy, have b
een investigated using Brillouin light scattering. The samples were si
ngle crystalline, with fee stacking, and complete lattice matching bet
ween the Co and Cu layers. The spin wave bulk and surface modes were o
bserved for applied fields in the range 0.01-0.45 T and the gyromagnet
ic ratio gamma, saturation magnetisation 4 pi M(s), and band factor xi
determined.
