Abstract
Site selective Fe-57 Mossbauer spectrometry has been used to study the structural and magnetic properties of UHV evaporated Fe/Tb multilayer s. Probe multilayers were prepared at different temperatures (150 and 300 K) with amorphous and crystalline Fe layers. The modulated composi tion is clearly evidenced for both structures of Fe layers. For amorph ous layers, pure amorphous iron in the centre of Fe layers is evidence d. When Fe layers are crystalline, the Mossbauer results indicate diff erent structural and magnetic properties of the different interfaces.
