We have carried out a real-space calculation using a d-band tight-bind
ing Hamiltonian to study the magnetic behaviour of thin body-centred-t
etragonal (bet) Mn films on Fe(107). The surface roughness in the Mn/F
e(107) system gives rise to a completely different polarization map co
mpared to the usual abrupt interface, For one monolayer of Mn, two sta
ble solutions have been obtained, which display a vanishing average su
rface magnetization, Results for two Mn monolayers are also reported.
