Abstract
Parallel and antiparallel configurations at Fe/Cr interfaces are discu ssed within the TB-LMTO method. A parallel configuration is shown to b e the ground state in the ordered B2Fe0.5Cr0.5 alloy whereas an antipa rallel configuration is shown to be present when the lattice parameter is increased by 5%, For Fe1Cr2 superlattices a similar spin-flop aris es when the lattice parameter is increased only by 2%.
