Abstract
The giant magnetoresistance of Co/Cu spin-valves containing a shifting Ru barrier has been investigated. The Boltzmann approach has been app lied to predict how microscopic scattering lengths may be evaluated fr om the experiments. From the comparison of these data with the macrosc opic conductivity no evidence could be found for a considerable contri bution of bulk spin-dependent scattering.
