We have used electrodeposition to grow Co-Ni-Cu/Cu alloy superlattices
on (100) textured polycrystalline and (100)- and (Ill)-oriented Cu si
ngle crystal substrates. The giant magnetoresistance of these superlat
tices was investigated as a function of Cu thickness and the results s
howed a noticeable dependence on the substrate orientation and crystal
linity. Oscillatory behaviour was observed for the films grown on Cu(1
00) but none was observed for(lll)-oriented superlattices.
