A procedure for determining lower thiols in atmospheric air at a level
of maximum permissible concentrations is proposed. The procedure is b
ased on the extraction of thiol impurities from air in a trap with a p
olymer sorbent at room temperature, the thermal desorption of the conc
entrated impurities, and their determination on a chromatograph with a
flame-photometric or photoionization detector. The procedure makes it
possible to determine 0.2-6 ng of thiols C-1-C-4 with a relative stan
dard deviation of 25-34%.
