Rk. Sarkar et al., RESPONSE OF SUNFLOWER (HELIANTHUS-ANNUUS) TO CROP GEOMETRY AND NITROGEN AND PHOSPHORUS APPLICATION ON RICE-FALLOW GANGETIC ALLUVIAL SOIL, Indian Journal of Agronomy, 40(4), 1995, pp. 657-659
A field experiment was conducted during the winter season of 1991-92 a
nd 1992-93 to study the response of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) t
o crop geometry and N and P application on rice-fallow gangetic alluvi
al soil. Crop geometry of 45 cm x 20 cm improved the yield attributes
and significantly increased the seed yield compared with 30 cm x 30 cm
and 60 cm x 15 cm. Appreciable improvement in yield attributes and si
gnificant increase in yield was obtained with increase in level of N a
nd P2O5 up to 80 and 60 kg/ha respectively.
