Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during 1989, 1990 and 1991 to develop a suitable cultural practice for sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) grown under moisture stress. Soil application of extra K @ 40 kg/ha b efore last irrigation with or without mulch was found beneficial and g ave higher cane and sugar yield. Urea and K spray combinations were fo und second best to overcome the early loss of growth due to moisture s tress. Soil or foliar application of K helped retain better quality pa rameters.
