Abstract
The theory and numerical methods used to determine the lift and drag o f a yacht model from wind-tunnel wake measurements are discussed. The results from wake surveys taken downstream of a 1/40th scale IACC mode l yacht are presented. The lift and drag distributions are given as we ll as plots of the total pressure loss, vorticity, and stream-function , which are helpful in understanding the flow structure.
