Abstract
Production-enhancement projects are creating changes in business relat ionships between oil and gas and service companies. The most successfu l projects are building partnerships. Service companies are being aske d to share the risk while supplying services to enhance well performan ce. Risk sharing creates common project objectives and requires the se rvice company's involvement in initial project planning, job design, a nd reservoir understanding. Service-work compensation is based on well - or field-performance improvement resulting from the treatment(s). Th is paper presents an integrated approach to the selection and prioriti zation of well candidates for production-enhancement jobs or treatment s. Processes are illustrated, and data requirements and techniques nec essary to select well candidates that provide the highest return on in vestment are discussed. Field examples demonstrate the techniques, cri tical factors, and appropriate software used by geoscience and field-o perations learns to maximize benefits from production-enhancement proj ects.
