AN EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY OF THE WINDMILL OF SOLAR-CELL BUCKETS

In order to demonstrate a complementary relationship between solar ene rgy and wind energy, the authors proposed the WISH(Wind and Solar Hybr id) type windmill. The flexible amorphous photovoltaic modules are att ached to the buckets of Savorius type windmill. After eight months ope ration of the WISH type windmill in the field, we confirmed that there exists a complementary relationship between solar energy and wind ene rgy. We also found that the power generation of this type of windmill was nearly twice as large as those without photovoltaic modules.
