Abstract
The knowledge of the chemical composition at the atomic level of alloy s is essential to understand their physical properties. A detailed ana lysis of the contrast of high resolution images can lead to a semi qua ntitative evaluation of local changes in the composition. The method w ill be applied to the study of the gamma/gamma' interface in a nickel based superalloy and to the determination of the distribution of heavy atoms in the gamma' phase.
