Abstract
For real-time detection oi material transport and mixing within specia lly designed screw parts inside a co-rotating twin screw extruder at i ts steady stale a specific nuclide tracing of plastic melt has been ap plied. By combining effective collimation systems with a special devel oped data aquisition and computing equipment, new quantitative informa tions about average residence time distribution and melt mixing state in polymer melts inside the extruder are achievable.
