The C-13 NMR chemical shifts for a series of l-1,7-diphenylbispyrazolo
[3,4-b;4',3'-e]pyridines, where aryl=4'-R-phenyl [R=H (1), CH3 (2), OC
H3 (3), N(CH3)(2) (4), F (5), CI (6), Br (7), CF3 (8), NO2 (9) and CN
(10)], 2'-Br-phenyl (11) and 4'-pyridyl (12), were determined. The spe
ctral assignments are based on the empirical substituent-induced chemi
cal shifts (SCS), on the 2D C-13-H-1 HETCOR correlations transmitted v
ia (1)J(C, H) couplings and in case of 4'-CN substituted derivative (1
0) on an inverse 2D H-1-C-13 HMBC measurement.
