A brief information is given on the latest development in the calorime
tric measurement of the adsorption heat of gases on solid surfaces. Ou
tlined are the principal features of thermistor calorimeter for measur
ement with single-crystal discs of metals, pyroelectric calorimeter fo
r determination of the heat produced by adsorption of pulsed molecular
beam on polycrystalline films, calorimeter for measurement of the hea
t and its coverage dependence on clean metal single-crystal films usin
g pulsed molecular beam and infrared or pyroelectric temperature sensi
ng, and micromechanical calorimeter for the measurement of extremely s
mall heat flows.
