Abstract
The ultimate strength analysis of presented contaminated vessels is pr oposed in this paper. Equations have been developed to predict the fle xural and shear failure in the wall of this type of vessel. The analys is is applied to Oldburg and Dungeness B vessels. The results are comp ared with three-dimensional finite element analysis by using the compu ter program OBAID. Both sets of results are in close agreement.
