PARASITIC COPEPODA OF MARINE FISHES FROM KUWAIT - A PRELIMINARY-REPORT

Twenty-three species of parasitic Copepoda, belonging to seven familie s (Bomolochidae, Taeniacanthidae, Chondracanthidae, Caligidae, Hatsche kidae, Lernanthropidae and Lernaeopodidae) in two orders (Poecilostoma toida and Siphonostomatoida) are reported from 23 species of marine fi shes collected in a local fish market in Kuwait. All of the recovered parasites are new to Kuwait. A brief discussion is given of each speci es of parasite in regard to its taxonomy, distribution and other aspec ts of its biology. A host-parasite list (in alphabetical order) is als o provided for quick reference.
