T. Badica et al., COINCIDENCE METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF MINOR ELEMENTS IN STEEL BY PROTON-INDUCED PROMPT GAMMA-RAY SPECTROMETRY (PIGE), Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 111(3-4), 1996, pp. 321-324
The concentration of minor elements in a standard steel sample has bee
n determined by irradiation with protons of 5.5 MeV. The steel sample
has been analyzed with the regular PIGE method and with the selection
of the (p, n) reaction channel by measuring gamma-n coincidences. This
approach has resulted in a significant improvement of the sensitivity
of the analysis.
