The interaction of separate steels and alloys with a melt of carbonate
s of lithium and potassium was investigated at 650 degrees C in the at
mosphere of a humidified mixture of hydrogen and carbon dioxide (atmos
phere I) by gravimetric, chemico-analytical, and X-ray microspectral m
ethods. The data were analyzed in comparison with those obtained in ca
rbonate melts under a CO2 atmosphere.
