Abstract
NeuAc oligomers and polymers (DP2-15), isolated from a commercial colo minic acid, were lactonized in 10 mM HCl or glacial acetic acid. All l actonized oligo/polymers showed a negative circular dichroism (CD) ban d at 235 nm. The determination of lactonized oligo/polymer was perform ed by capillary electrophoresis. Molar ellipticity per lactone ring wa s -1.5 x 10(4) deg . cm(2)/dmol, and the molar ellipticity showed addi tivity with respect to the lactone ring. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier S cience Ltd
