Lm. Gonzalez et al., BALED SACCHARINA FOR BROILER FEEDING .1. SACCHARINA FERMENTED IN PLATES AND BALED, Cuban journal of agricultural science, 29(2), 1995, pp. 227-232
840 E24 broilers from 7 to 49 days of age of both sexes were used to e
valuate baled Saccharina. A completely randomized desgin with four tre
atments and 7 replications: control, 5% packed Saccharina, 10% baled S
accharina and 10% industrial Saccharina. Consumption was 3601, 3193, 3
067 and 3132 g/bird and conversion of conventional feeding was 2.15, 1
.98, 1.95 and 1.97 for control, 5% baled Saccharina, 10% baled Sacchar
ina and 10% industrial Saccharina, respectively On substituting cereal
by Saccharins savings of conventional raw materials were obtained. Th
e productive results when 10% of industrial Saccharina was used are co
nfirmed and the possibility of employing 5 and 10% of baled Saccharina
for broiler feeding was demonstrated, although economic benefits were
obtained only when using baled Saccharina feeding due to the present
cost of industrial Saccharina.
