Abstract
The use of ZnS(Ag) and YAG(Ce) scintillators for charge normalization at low currents (>15 pA) was demonstrated with current gains of 2 x 10 (3) using a photomultiplier tube (PMT) and up to 10 with a photodiode (PD). An accuracy of a few percent, sufficient for ion beam applicatio ns, was obtained. The potential of the method and its use for micropro be applications is discussed.
