Abstract
In this paper, well-conditioning of nonhomogeneous variable coefficien t second order boundary value systems is studied. First, the constant coefficient case is treated. Considering appropriate truncated problem s and the behavior of perturbed problems with respect to a constant co efficient one, sufficient conditions for well-conditioning expressed i n terms of the data are given.
