Abstract
Paper color coating drying is investigated from several experimental v iew points which include drying kinetics and time evolution of moistur e content profiles, pore size distribution in the dried coating, and n atural binder (starch) distribution in the dried coating. A study of t he effects of drying conditions on those experimental parameters is ca rried out. Furthermore, gelification and consolidation characteristic moisture contents of the coating are determined using a graphical appr oach.
