Application studies on analytical toxicology in forensic science, cond
ucted in our laboratories, are reviewed. They include new techniques o
f solid-phase extraction with Sep-Pak C-18 cartridges, headspace/solid
-phase microextraction, gas chromatography (GC) with surface ionizatio
n detection and GC/mass spectrometry (MS) in the negative chemical ion
ization mode. The advantages and disadvantages of each technique are p
resented, and the prospect of new developments in this field is also d
iscussed.
