Abstract
Some properties of hydroxylating enzymes able to add the two oxygen at
oms of molecular oxygen into aromatic substrates such as benzene and p
hthalate are reviewed. In particular the non-haem single iron dioxygen
ases capable of incorporating two hydroxyl groups are presented as wel
l as their up-to-date biophysical characterization.
