Ae. Holdo et E. Weibust, EFFECTS DUE TO INITIAL PERTURBATIONS ON THE MODELING OF VORTEX SHEDDING FROM A BLUFF-BODY IN A LAMINAR-FLOW, International journal of computational fluid dynamics, 6(4), 1996, pp. 337-344
An investigation into the effects of initial perturbation mechanisms o
n the simulation of steady-state vortex shedding from a square cross-s
ection cylinder at a Reynolds number of 200 is presented, The simulati
on of the near wake velocity field is shown to be affected by the choi
ce of initial perturbation mechanism, The time-step size when using an
automatic variable time-step procedure is also affected by the choice
of this initial perturbation mechanism, The perturbation mechanism ne
cessitates asymmetry for the vortex shedding to take place on a high d
ensity mesh.
