Abstract
A 1.4-2.7GHz monolithic vector modulator with continuous amplitude and phase control has been developed. Each state within a full 360 degree s phase range and a dynamic range >15dB is generated by combining two of three vectors which have variable amplitude and 120 degrees apart. The control in amplitude for the three vectors is performed by sets of two MESFETs working as dual-gate MESFETs, and the phase shift of 120 degrees for these vectors is obtained through LC filters over the 1.4- 2.7GHz band. The circuit will be used as the control node in a crossba r beam forming network (CBFN).
