Abstract
A wideband and highly reflective step-chirped fibre grating filter is embedded in an SC-type connector to reject the optical maintenance sig nal. The filter is 15mm long, and its transmission loss and bandwidth (FWHM) >35dB and 15nm at wavelengths around 1550 or 1610nm, respective ly. The transmission and mechanical characteristics are confirmed to b e stable.
