Abstract
Six protein levels (30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50% and 55%) were tested in is ocaloric diets for bullfrog tadpoles, to evaluate its effects on weigh t gain and metamorphosis establishing the optimum dietary protein leve l for this organism. It was found that weight gain data were not adequ ate for calculating protein level. Cumulative frequency of metamorphos is showed a direct relationship with dietary protein, this being suita ble for use as a parameter to evaluate the protein requirement for tad poles, Using this method, an optimum level of 44.61% crude protein was determined.
