Abstract
The new charge transfer salt (BEDT-TTF)(2)[N(SO2CF3)(2)] was synthesiz ed and structually characterized. Its unit cell parameters at 295 K ar e: a = 6.6394(13) Angstrom, b = 8.658(2) Angstrom, c = 17.349(4) Angst rom, alpha = 94.70(2)degrees, beta = 97.21(2)degrees, gamma = 68.95(2) degrees, V = 922.7(4) Angstrom(3), space group <P(1)over bar>, and Z = 1. The anion, N(SO2CF3)(2)(-), was found to be disordered, which may relate to the absence of the nu(4) and nu(5) Ag modes of the BEDT-TTF molecule in the Raman spectrum. ESR measurements reveal its semiconduc tive behavior with a small energy gap of 18.7 meV.
