Dt. Walton et al., BROAD-BANDWIDTH PULSE AMPLIFICATION TO THE 10-MU-J LEVEL IN AN YTTERBIUM-DOPED GERMANOSILICATE FIBER, Optics letters, 21(14), 1996, pp. 1061-1063
The saturation characteristics of pulse amplification in an ytterbium-
doped fiber are studied. The highest pulse energy obtained is 12 mu J
at a repetition rate of 1 kHz. Even with gain narrowing, the fiber is
capable of amplifying the bandwidth of 100-fs pulses at 1 mu m. (C) 19
