Cases of acalculous cholecystitis in patients with acute leukaemia are
rare. Manifestations of the primary disease often mask the acute chol
ecystitis symptoms. A high index of suspicion and ultrasonographic exa
mination in leukaemic patients with abdominal pain and unexplained fev
er may allow earlier diagnosis, before the development of complication
s, We report two cases of acute acalculous cholecystitis during the co
urse of acute leukaemia.
