Abstract
Plantar keratoses and verrucous lesions are common foot problems in th e orthopaedic, dermatologic, and pediatric practices, Treatment often is palliative. Two cases of squamous cell carcinoma are presented to d raw attention to the potential for these lesions to deteriorate into m alignant lesions, A high index of suspicion is necessary to make the e arly diagnosis of malignancy and prevent spread of lesions, An initial wide excision may prevent metastasis, Inadequate excision, recurrence , or tumor in the margins should be treated by amputation.
