A. Mills et al., THE REMOVAL OF BROMATE FROM POTABLE WATER USING GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON, Journal of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, 10(3), 1996, pp. 215-217
Bromate in drinking water, at a level of microgrammes/litre, is a prob
lem in ozonated waters but can be adsorbed, to a certain extent, by gr
anular activated carbon. The adsorption capacity of granular activated
carbon for bromate is significantly lowered when there are high conce
ntrations of other anions, most notably chloride and sulphate, present
in the water.
