New relatively stable in the solid-state derivatives of Mo(0) and full
erene C-60, of composition [Mo(CO)(3)(DDH)]C-2(60). 2.5C(6)H(6) (1) an
d [Mo(CO)(2)(PPh(3))(2)(DDH)]C-2(60) (2) (DDH=diacetyldihydrazone, H2N
-N=C(Me)C(Me)=N-NH2) were obtained by reaction of C-60 with the title
molybdenum(0) electron-rich complexes. Compound 1 can be considered as
derived from substitution of a CO ligand of each Mo(CO)(4)(DDH) unit
by fullerene, whereas 2 seems to be an inclusion intermolecular comple
x. A detailed conductivity study of compound 2 in the solid state was
performed in order to elucidate the possible charge-transfer nature of
this complex. 2 behaves as a semiconductor, whereas 1 is an insulatin
g compound.
