A new absorbent for acid gas absorption, propylene carbonate (WP) modi
fied by triethanoloamine (TEA), was investigated. The measurements of
H2S absorption rate were carried out by the laminar jet technique. It
was shown that H2S absorption in propylene carbonate with TEA as an ad
ditive can be treated as a physical absorption process. The diffusion
coefficient of H2S in the new sorbent was measured in the temperature
ranging from 10 to 40 degrees C (283-313 K) and correlated as a functi
on of temperature and TEA concentration. The measurements of the rate
of simultaneous H2S and CO2 absorption in the new absorbent were also
carried out.
